This black skinned, tannic Southern French variety also goes by the name of Mataro in Australia and Monastrell in Spain. Either way, it’s an exceptional grape variety giving deeply coloured, heady and characterful wines.

With 20 of its 80 acres under vine, the winery produces about 4500 cases annually with most wines under 500 cases. Grapes are handpicked and triple-sorted. The Il Gioiello label is for Italian varietals, the Morse Estate label for French varietals and the Parallax label focuses on wines of exceptional value.
